Heinz Bodies
Test Details: Heinz bodies are intra-erythrocytic insoluble inclusions of oxidatively denatured haemoglobin. The main reason Heinz bodies form is because of toxic injury from free radicals or chemicals that damage blood cells. This is called oxidative damage. This test is used to detect haemolytic disorders associated with Heinz body formation.
