Test Details: The myeloproliferative disorder (MPD) also referred to as myleoproliferative neoplasms (MPN) are large group of relatively rare pathogenetically related diseases arising in the bone marrow. A point mutation (V617F) in the Jak2 gene has been identified and found in some individuals with one of the three myeloproliferative diseases- Polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET), idiopathic myelofibrosis (IMF).
