Test Details: WBCs also known as leukocytes are key components of the immune system. White blood cells comprise of neutrophils, lymphocytes, eosinophils, monocytes, basophils and their lineage precursors respectively, making up the differential leukocytic count (DLC). This DLC may vary in different disease conditions and hence is used as a primary aid to differentiate bacterial, viral and parasitic infections. It is also used as a primary screening and in follow-up of hematological malignancies.
