Test Details: Work-up for abdominal pain, epigastric tenderness, nausea, and vomiting. The urinary amylase can be used in differentiating between Macroamylasemia and Pseudocyst of the pancreas. If a patient suffers from Macroamylasemia, only the serum levels are raised. In the latter case, urinary level remains high for some weeks after an episode of acute pancreatitis.
